Battle for Tripoli Airport

An earlier post commented that in Libya "Straightforward Energy in the Community" would emerge, Logistics.  The supply lines & the transport and that:

This will conclude with power fights over the control of logistics  (30^th Aug). 

This is occurring in the form of fierce fighting for control of the airport (12th Dec).  These battles will continue for some time before stability emerges, and ideally a development from straightforward energy in the community into proper energy in the community, for example in the form of the rule of law and community institutions that combine and reconcile the interests of the overall majority of people

A Potemkin Election

An earlier post, 19^th Oct. mentioned that “Freedom will be curtailed under Putin”

This has certainly come to pass with recent elections and is probably best described by a Guardian Newspaper editorial (16th Dec):

This political crisis – and let us be clear, this is the biggest political challenge he has faced to date – is as much a result of his mistakes as it is of disenchanted voters. The biggest mistake was to announce he was swapping jobs with Dmitry Medvedev a month before the elections. This humiliated voters, because it made them redundant. 

What’s happening here is that the proper energy in the community space is being taken out (and with it the social energy that proper energy grounds and supports).  This in turn will undermine the intimate energy in the community shown by issues such as individual freedom.

Spilling Over into the Outdoors Space

The last post relevant commented the financial crisis, the community's dissatisfaction and questioned:

that farce is largely confined to the community space, but will it spread to the borders of the community space and spill over into the public space (like riots, protests, street obstructions and so on)? 

Thats exactly whats happened and it is interesting to see the movement of protest in terms of "Spaces" because it lends direction and indicates what is going to happen next.

The spillover is now moving from the Outdoors into the "Domestic Space" with a kind of interpersonal bond between people, creating a division, and a "us and thum" mentality. 

The last post relevant commented:

consequence would be that the Community space would become increasingly distant from the values of the essence it seeks to promote

We are likely to see this happen yet, Community views may become polarised into black and white strident views.  This might affect the broader essence space, leading to a deprivation of rights or less complexity and subtly.  A bit less complexity might be exactly what the financial industry needs.

the last post relevant commented Russian finanical infrastructure and the need to  "nurture this Social energy from above, with "Intimate" energy, like freedom for the press and opposition."

The conditions for this appear to be fading.  Freedom will be curtailed under Putin.  What this means is the Social Energy in Russia will be compromised and for example the national ambitions of being a major financial centre will be put on hold.  There may be a distinct clash with the West where Social Power and Community space prevail.

Libya & Logistics...The Next Step

The war appears to have been won for the moment.  The Arab Spring has been about a fight for freedom, "Intimate values in the Community", with a massive backing of "Social energy in the Community" and a lot of "Straightforward Action Outdoors"

Next, "Straightforward Energy in the Community" is needed: Logistics.  The supply lines & the transport.  Western powers, with their turbo-logistics can certainly make this happen, it's the next step.  This will conclude with power fights over the control of logistics and will herald the new stage of "Proper energy in the Community".  This ought to be achievable though all the evidence shows the campaign is likely to face big challenges at this point (if past results are anything to go by) and may even fail due to a lack of proper strategy.

Finance & Community in the Emerging Markets

Russia, China and other emerging markets appear to be rapidly developing their financial infrastructure. If successful, then this is likely to reflect as Social energy in the Community Space and could flow into becoming Intimate energy in the Community Space, providing a new range of national ambitions.  However, to achieve this it will first be necessary to better develop the underpinnings, the "Proper" energy in the Community, e.g. strengthen the rule of law and society's institutions and nurture this Social energy from above, with "Intimate" energy, like freedom for the press and opposition.

Hard times & Community Support for the Essence

Land of the Freedom & Liberty?

The stature is a metaphor for COMMUNITY space and values of the ESSENCE like liberty, and freedom.  The Community "grounds" or promotes & supports such values of the essence.
Though when values of a community at large are tainted with financial scandals and corruption it becomes a farce.  For now, that farce is largely confined to the community space, but will it spread to the borders of the community space and spill over into the public space (like riots, protests, street obstructions and so on)?  The consequence would be that the Community space would become increasingly distant from the values of the essence it seeks to promote.  Liberty might becomes more of a luxury than a right.
