A Potemkin Election





An earlier post, 19th Oct. mentioned that Freedom will be curtailed under Putin

This has certainly come to pass with recent elections and is probably best described by a Guardian Newspaper editorial (16th Dec):

This political crisis – and let us be clear, this is the biggest political challenge he has faced to date – is as much a result of his mistakes as it is of disenchanted voters. The biggest mistake was to announce he was swapping jobs with Dmitry Medvedev a month before the elections. This humiliated voters, because it made them redundant. 

What’s happening here is that the proper energy in the community space is being taken out (and with it the social energy that proper energy grounds and supports).  This in turn will undermine the intimate energy in the community shown by issues such as individual freedom.
